Fernando Ortega
Artist Cv
Ortega works in a wide range of media, including video, photography, installation and sound interventions. In his work, Ortega crystallises random, perfect moments and encounters, such as a man serenely peddling his wife home on a tricycle (Para Xó, 2002), a young boy trying to relieve his boredom during a public lecture (Mesa Redonda, 2003), or a hummingbird quietly balancing, asleep on a branch (Colibrí inducido a sueño profundo, 2006).Ortega's work offers a renewed way of looking at the everyday, framing situations that would normally go unnoticed. Playing between the factual and the intangible, his work invites us to question the reasons and ways we relate to everyday occurrences, bridging sensory and intellectual experiences.
Fernando Ortega lives and works in Mexico D.F.
